তোমারে জানি নে হে, তবু মন তোমাতে ধায়।

অসীম সৌন্দর্য তব কে করেছে অনুভব হে,
সে মাধুরী চিরনব–
আমি না জেনে প্রাণ সঁপেছি তোমায়।।
তুমি জ্যোতির জ্যোতি, আমি অন্ধ আঁধারে।
তুমি মুক্ত মহীয়ান, আমি মগ্ন পাথারে।
তুমি অন্তহীন, আমি ক্ষুদ্র দীন– কী অপূর্ব মিলন তোমায় আমায়।।

The endless beauty that is yours                             who has truly known,
The beauty that is renewed and eternally new –
And yet, I gave my soul to you without a thought.
You, the light brightest of all                               while I shut my eyes in darkness.
You, the freedom infinite in its grace, while I flounder in this ocean.
You are without end and I have nothing – yet how marvellous our union.
